Today is a really exciting day over at Olivia Jenkins Consulting, because we are celebrating our second birthday! I founded OJC two years ago to date, and it has been an incredible journey filled with ups and downs, lessons learned, goals achieved, and of course, some big surprises.
If you’re new to OJC, I’d love for you to check out my full business story, but I’ll give you the short version here as well!
Basically, business has been a part of my life since I was a baby — my mum founded a global skincare brand when I was just 18 months old, and I later went on to work at her company and learn the marketing ropes from her as a young adult. I spent 10 years there before landing my dream job as a General Manager of a global beauty brand, around the same time I decided to pursue a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing.
When I graduated from business school, I made the exciting but terrifying choice to quit my job (my dream for so long) and start my own business as a consultant specialising in health, beauty, and fashion. Now, two years later, I am not only the CEO of a multi-six figure business, but I get to do what I genuinely love in life: help passionate and ambitious entrepreneurs build leading companies through strategy and support.
While I couldn’t be prouder of how much OJC has grown since I first launched in 2019, it hasn’t been without unique challenges: I started the business while pregnant with baby #3, and the COVID-19 pandemic hit shortly after OJC officially launched to the public (changing life as we all knew it). It’s safe to say there have been bumps in the road, but if anything, they’ve taught me that what matters most when building a business is determination, ambition, a positive mindset, and a smart strategy.
