A Day in the Life of a 7-Figure Marketing Consultant

As the founder and CEO of Olivia Jenkins Consulting and the mum of three small children, it’s safe to say that I pretty much have my hands full at all times.

In fact, I get a lot of questions about what my day-to-day life actually looks like in my role as CEO of OJC. You see little snippets of my life here and there on socials, but I rarely break down what I’m actually doing from the moment I wake up in the morning to the moment my head hits the pillow at night. And trust me, there’s a lot more to it than what I choose to (and have time to) show!

So, if you want a peek into the daily happenings of the CEO of a 7 figure business coaching and consulting company, here’s a little breakdown of what a typical day in my life might look like. (Although, as my fellow CEOs will already know, there truly is no such thing as a “typical day” when you’re running a business!)

Morning

6:00am: I usually wake up at about 6:00am and am fully out of bed by 6:05am. I’m a morning person not only because I have to be (there are only so many hours in the day), but because I truly feel that having a set routine in the morning allows me to go about my day in a positive headspace and stay productive and on-track throughout the week.

6:45am: I have coffee with my husband every morning. We like to review our schedules for the day and exchange any important information so we are caught up with one another. I also enjoy having this time for just the two of us to connect alone before the kids wake up and chaos takes over!

7:00am: At 7:00am time, I go and wake up the kids. I prepare them a quick breakfast and then get them ready for school. One of my best tips to avoid battles in the morning is to prepare as much as possible the night before. This means having their outfits laid out and ready to go, lunches prepared, backpacks packed with everything they’ll need for the day, and so on. This way, you can enjoy a leisurely morning with the family instead of spending that time stressed out and anxious about getting out the door. 7:30am: Once the kids are ready and enjoying their morning before school, I dive into my morning skin and makeup routine. After tons of trial-and-error, I’ve finally mastered the perfect natural look for everyday at the office, which looks like:

8:00am: Once my makeup and hair are ready to go for the day, I get dressed. I like to lay my outfit out the night before so that I can also go through this process quickly. In general, my style leans chic and timeless but feminine. You can usually find me in a chic dress or elevated basics!

8:15am: At about 8:15am, I kiss my husband and the kids goodbye for the day and hop in the car. I like to catch up on my favourite podcasts or listen to music on my way to the office. My go-to hype song right now is “First Class” by Jack Harlow!

9:00am: Once I arrive at the office, I’m on calls for the majority of the morning. I like to do my “CEO calls” earlier in the day. A CEO call is a regular catch up I have with clients to check in on the business OKRs, promotional plan, review key data/metrics, and address any critical business issues or concerns.

12:30pm: Quick lunch break! I always like to pause and fuel my body during this time to keep my energy up throughout the remainder of the day. Right now, I can’t get enough of sushi and Mexican bowls.

1:00pm: Back to CEO calls. Once I’m through with my calls for the day, I will move into working on the business and implementing the existing plans and strategies I’ve created alongside my team.

4:30pm: I’m done at the office for the day, but work isn’t over. Once I lock up, I spend my 45-minute drive home making client calls. In the event that I don’t have any more calls on my schedule for the day, I’ll wind down and listen to some chill music.

5:15pm: I’m always so excited to get home and see my babies. I typically start preparing a healthy meal for the family to enjoy together after taking a few minutes to settle in. On the days that cooking feels impossible (and trust me, they happen!), I’ll turn to a great meal service like Vintage Chef Co. I also tend to plan meals for the week ahead (I highly suggest the Steph Pase Magnetic Meal Planner to help with this) so that I have all the ingredients I need to whip up something quickly.

6:00pm: After dinner, the kids get a bath and some quality time before I tuck them into bed. The boys both love being read books before they go to bed - whereas our daughter, Charlotte, just loves being zipped up in her sleeping bag, kissed on the forehead and left to dive straight into her beauty sleep.

9:30pm: Soon after, it’s lights out for me as well. Before I officially switch off and head to bed for the night, I’ll take time to read a book, journal, or unwind in general after a long day at the office.

Then I do it all over again the next day! Of course, I also love to take advantage of the weekends and see friends, spend time with family, travel, and take a little “me” time to decompress and reset. This is how I achieve balance in my overall routine and avoid burnout.
